very thin line
Like the article said, there is a very delicate line when to step in. And like the article said their is no law saying you have to. As in intervention which i have seen many times, there should be times where a parent or person close to them should step in and stop them from doing drugs or alcohol before driving. But the cameraman has no obligation to. What it comes down to is that its a show and thats what the network pays for and why we watch it. There is a very thin line and depending on the person watching the show it can be crossed, but not for everyone. If someone is about to commit suicide you drop the camera and stop them, if they down a bottle of alcohol and pills you just hope they survive their horrible decisions.

I agree with you to an extent. I do believe that the producers shouldn't really step in, in most situations due to the fact that it's reality television. People/viewers want to see what people such as addicts are really like. However if the situation is going downhill and looks as if death is an option than the producer should step in.
Ya i only agree with this to an extent as well. I mean sure we want to watch this "reality" but in reality if your a person, which the cameraman is, you would step in. Sure youre trying to film a show but if these shows are as "real" as people say than the cameraman should feel he needs to step in if the situation is or can become dangerous.
I totally agree with your stance on producers intervening. If its a matter of life and death, then the camera crew needs to do somehting. Otherwise, let the camera roll, that truely is why we watch these shows. It is because they continue to push the envelope dan in and day out.
I agree with you 100%. It's not the camerman's business, he's paid to film what he sees and that's all, if he didn't, the show wouldn't get as liked as it does. The drama and extreme moments like that are what makes people continue watching them.
