How Can We Define RTV?

Everyone thinks that a RTV as a show that is not, or that is somewhat scripted. However I started to wonder if sporting events can be counted as reality TV? Most of my Tv watching is done when the Seminoles, Bucs, or Lightning are on. Sports if counted as RTV shows are my favorite to watch, they are never scripted nor can the outcome ever be leaked. For those of you who beg to differ with me that live sporting events are not RTV I do follow shows such as Survivor, The Amazing Race, and Top Gear. The British RTV hit known as Top Gear is now one of my all time favorites after my High School Statistics teacher told me about it. The wild english humor and unbelievable challenges are both hilarious as well as entertaining. Personally I enjoy the more serious and "action packed" RTV shows, but I do enjoy watching a funny episode of Jersey Shore once in a while to keep me laughing.
