My Super Sweet 16
I chose this show because I believe this is a good point of unrealistic reality television. Although some people may live this way, most of the people that watch the show do not. I chose this episode specifically because the girl throwing the party, Cher, is from my hometown of Palm Harbor and I was actually supposed to go to her party but I wasn't allowed to, so I figured it would be cool to analyze her episode :)
1. I think the purpose of the show is purely for entertainment. The fact that it is on MTV is a big indicator, and also I do not see any true personal gain of knowledge or change of life view from watching.
2. The audience of the show is geared toward teenagers and very young adults. Once again, it is on MTV and the "characters" shown in the show are typically between the ages of 14 and 18, which signals that there are more people from that age group watching.
3. The author/ speaker of the show is the actual person who is having the party, making us able to get more into their point of view. MTV loyal viewers are likely to watch anything MTV provides them to watch.
4. I think the genre of the show is kind of drama, and kind of documentary. It shows drama that goes on in these people's lives, and shows teh struggles they have with their parties. As well as documenting their whole party-planning process.
5. I believe the plot is rather simple. It shows the progression from the initial theme choosing to the full-on party and the end result, which is the climax. The stucture of course includes statements and complaints from the spoiled birthday girls.
6. The font and style is Louis Vouitton with glitter and sparkles, which is meant to attract teenage girls. It makes the whole "classy and rich" part of the show attractive. It may make girls think "If I watch this then I will be classy and rich." The music is Hilary Duff, who is known to be a tween and teen star. The overall tone of the show is girly, richy, and stuck up.

Wow that's awesome! We had a girl from Brandon almost on 16 and pregnant which i think anyone would much rather be on Sweet 16. I like how you have the person that is throwing the parties voice to get her experience first hand since it is her birthday. This show is revolving on rich people. They could buy a mansion for how much money is being spent on these parties.
