Treasure hunters
The infatuation with treasure shows has recently been on an incline. This may have to do with a number of reasons, one being the state of the economy. The economy is on a decline so people may be looking for any way possible to get money from their useless items and they may just be looking for hope. The target audience for this show is probably mainly middle class familys who are trying to save money. Within the middle class family they are probably looking at people in teh age groups of 30-45(parents). What makes the show entertaining is that it is not a perfectly good waste of time like a show like Jersey Shore may be, you may watch this show and leave with some money in your pocket. Also the hosts are quite funny in american pickers. They seem like they know exactly what they are doing. Overall i feel as though these types serve a better purpose in society then most of the other reality TV shows.
