I chose the show Survivor. It is a show that I still like to watch. Even though the story line stays the same season after season, the challenges and characters change. It's always something new and interesting that holds my attention.
1) The purpose of the show is to win the game. It is to outlast everyone else and win the money. By playing the game and getting the most votes at the end, wins the money.
2) The audience is a wide variety. It really can be for all ages. Most likely though, it is geared toward men since there is a part of if showing off the manly man doing the challenges and doing all the work.
3) Jeff Probst is the host of the show. Even though he does provide commentary, the actual contestants on the show do have commentary throughout the show by having one-on-one interviews.
4) It is a game show.
5) The plot is structured around the characters, the challenges, and the elimination. The show starts off with people talking about the elimination, then the challenge, more talk between the characters, then elimination. And the process repeats.
6) The music does try to set the tone for what is currently going on or what the dialouge is. The font on the screen does try to fit the tribal writing.

You know that's a great point that the show is probably intended for men alot, considering the physical nature of many of the challenges, but one should suppose that women would want to see men doing challenges, and watching the women try and compete with big burly men at these challenges.
