Purpose:
The purpose of the Ultimate Fighter is to give a shot to a fighter in the biggest mixed martial arts promotion. The show is filmed for six weeks and the winner gets a six figure contract for the UFC. The purpose is to give a chance to a fighter who can win his way into a big contract.
2. Audience:
Young males is the audience targeted for this show. It is on spike tv which is known as the men's network. In general males watch it with very little appeal to women. It is a show about fighting, not better homes and gardens.
3. Author:
The show is endorsed by Spike T.V. Other shows on this network are Deadliest Warrior and Manswers. It is a predominantly male-oriented channel that consists of a young male audience.

Drama.
5. Plot:
The plot of the Ultimate Fighter is a little more intricate than your average reality T.V show. 16 fighters have to fight and win their way into the house that everybody lives in. The fighters are divided into two teams: a red and a blue that are coached by 2 professionals. It is a tournament elimination style. Whoever wins all of their fights gets to advance to the live finale and a shot at a six figure contract.
6. Tone:
The tone is always a little dramatic when the fights are taking place. There is always a lot of tension and a huge buildup to. However, when there is downtime at the house everybody is usually playing pranks on each other which brings about a much lighter tone than fighting.
