These shows both compare because it is one male with multiple female partners. The big difference is Hugh Wefner only has three girlfriends, no wives. In the sister wives, it is one male and four wives, who all have children of their own. They have over 20 children together and they work as any normal family. I feel like Hefner's show is more entertainment than any other, and the sister wives is more awareness. They are trying to prove that having a family like theirs can work, and its no big deal. The Sister Wives is socially unacceptable because not many people have four wives. The Sister Wives is more offensive than Hefner's show because people know who Hugh Hefner is and having three girlfriends at one time fits with his life. The women are portrayed differently in each show. The girls next door has the typical stripper/porn star girl, and the sister wives has educated adults with average lives.
