The More the Marrier

I have watched the tv show The Girls Next Door for sometime now and never really thought of Hugh Hefner as being a polygamist. Sure he has three "main girlfriends" but it never seemed something that struck me as wrong; just kind of gross.
So then I watched a clip of the new tv series called Sister Wives and felt completely violated as I watched this man cheerfully prance around from one wife to the other. The fact that he has the three of them, along with all their kids living in one house together is beyond me. He must think that because they each have their own "section" to live in that it's okay... well it's not.
The two shows have to diverse audiances that they appeal to. The Girls Next Door is more of an entertainment show, aiming at younger people, while Sister Wives seems to targert older generations.
Reguardless of the fact that in both shows a man is surrounded by three women on a daily basis, they differ in so many ways. In The Girls Next Door all three of Hefner's girlfriends know about one another and get along like best friends. They also have a career out of it. The Sister Wives seems to be a whole other story. I just feel very uncomfortable watching a man share a house with three women and their twenty kids. The fact the these women are comfortable publicising their lifestyles seems a bit off to me.
