Weird
The shows The Girls Next Door and Sister Wives are similiar in the sense that they both publicly display polygamous relationships. Hugh Hefner has his three girlfriends and the other show has four wives. For me, i find that The Girls Next Door is more entertaining and less weird because they don't take it so seriously. Everybody knows that Hugh has always had the reputation to have several girlfriends but he doesn't go and make them his wives. The Girls Next Door is a more light-hearted, fun show to watch and Sister Wives seems to be more serious about breaking the mold of what a family can be like. Girls Next Door glamourizes the idea of a polygamous relationship more because it's not really real life for them. They life more in a fantasy world with private jets and a mansion whereas Sister Wives is set more in the real world. I personally think that Sister Wives is weird and the whole idea of 1 dad, 4 wives, and 20 children freaks me out. They're trying to say that this is an acceptable lifestyle and it's not. It's saying that it's ok for a guy to have more than one wife and the wives on the show and that the man has all the control. I feel like this show is going to send the wrong message to younger generations.
