Wife Swap is a show where 2 moms switch families in exchange for some money. They usually put the moms into completely opposite settings for instance they will place a very strict and successful southern bell with a pushover stay at home mom. The main audience for this show is whole families. I think the purpose of this show is to show how different families can be. I don't think this show is staged however it may be slightly dramatized at times, for example the strict mom may act more strict than she is in reality. Wife Swap shows that the idea of a family varies according to that particular families preferences.
