Wife Swap
The clip I watched of Wife Swap was about one family who called themselves "the pirate family" and another that was the perfect family from California. The Baur family, also known as the pirate family, has decided to live life by their own rules. They run around having sword fights on a daily basis and the children do not have any rules that they must follow. The Fine family's most important aspect of life is organization. Everything in their house is labeled and easy to find. The mom calls this her gift and her daughter is quickly following in your footsteps. The Fine family is a stereotype of the perfect family, where the mom places a lot of time on her outward appearance. On the other hand, the Baur family aims to break stereotypes and takes their own unique route through life. When the wives are swapped, it becomes one wife trying to break the stereotype in one family, while the other wife tries to mold the other family into a stereotypical family. The show does not foster the uniqueness of families but rather tries to get families to conform to the opposite families lifestyle.
